Diese Internationale Norm legt die Anforderungen an hochsichtbare Warnkleidung fest, die die Anwesenheit des Trägers visuell signalisiert. Die Warnkleidung soll sicherstellen, dass der Träger bei allen Lichtverhältnissen für Fahrzeugführer oder Bediener anderer technischer Ausrüstung auffällig sichtbar ist; sowohl unter Bedingungen bei Tageslicht als auch unter Scheinwerferbeleuchtung in der Dunkelheit. Für weiterführende Angaben zu Risikosituationen siehe Anhang A. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Situationen mit mittlerem oder niedrigem Risiko. Es sind Leistungsanforderungen an die Farbe und die Retroreflexion festgelegt sowie an die Mindestflächen und die Anordnung der Schutzkleidungsmaterialien.
