Biomedical Signals (e.g. EEG, ECG, etc.) are, in addition to laboratory results and imaging data, another important group of patient-related diagnostic measurements. For storage of biosignals, however, no commonly accepted standard is available. Its the aim of this work to specify a format which optimally combines the features of existing standards and open specifications (including SCP-ECG, MFER, EDF, HL7aECG/FDA-XML, 11073-10101, Dicom-Waveform and other open vendor-specific formats) in a general data format.
