Dieser Teil von ISO 6270 gehört zu einer Reihe von Normen, welche die Probenahme und die Prüfung von Beschichtungsstoffen, wie Lacke und Anstrichstoffe, behandeln. Er legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Beständigkeit von Beschichtungen, Beschichtungssystemen und ähnlichen Produkten unter den Bedingungen hoher Feuchtigkeit fest, entsprechend den Anforderungen in Beschichtungs- oder Produktspezifikationen. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar bei Beschichtungen sowohl auf porösen Substraten wie Holz, Gips und Gipskarton, als auch auf nicht porösen Substraten, wie Metallen. Es gibt Hinweise, wie sich die Beschichtung unter Belastungsbedingungen verhalten wird, bei denen kontinuierliche Kondensation auf der Oberfläche auftritt.
