Dieser Teil 6 der Europäischen Norm EN ISO 9241 gilt für Arbeitssysteme, bei denen das Bildschirmgerät für Bürotätigkeiten eingesetzt wird. Er enthält allgemeine Grundsätze für die ergonomische Gestaltung der Arbeitsumwelt und der Arbeitsstation, die durch grundsätzliche Aspekte zu jeder Umgebungsbedingung, wie Beleuchtung, Einflüße von Geräuschen und mechanischen Schwingungen, elektrische und magnetische Felder sowie statische Elektrizität ergänzt werden. Er gibt Anleitungen, wie man diese Grundsätze bestmöglich bei einer gegebenen Arbeitsumgebung anwendet. Die technische Ausführung von Arbeitsmitteln und sonstigen Einrichtungen wird jedoch nicht spezifiziert.
