Diese ÖNORM legt Anforderungen und Prüfungen für Korrosionsschutzbänder und wärmeschrumpfende Korrosionsschutzmaterialien
aus Kunststoff (einschließlich zugehöriger Grundier- und Füllmittel) - sofern sie nicht mit gleichzeitigem
kathodischem Korrosionsschutz verknüpft sind - fest. Diese Materialien sind zur Herstellung von Umhüllungen und zur
Fehlstellenabdeckung für in Böden und Wässern verlegte Rohrleitungen bestimmt.
Die Materialien werden vornehmlich bei Dauerbetriebstemperaturen bis 30 °C eingesetzt. Wenn sie bei Dauerbetriebstemperaturen
bis 50 °C und darüber eingesetzt werden, müssen zusätzliche Prüfungen gemäß Tabelle 1 durchgeführt werden.
