Dieser Teil der Norm gibt eine Zusammenstellung von Eigenschaften und allgemeine Anforderungen für Garne aus Filamenttextilglas (Einfachgarne, gefachte Garne) und schließt texturierte Garne und Garne aus Stapelfasern, Rovings und vorimprägnierte Garne aus. Die Norm ist in folgende Abschnitte gegliedert: Physikalische Eigenschaften, sichtbare Eigenschaften, Anschlußfadenreserve, Verpackung, Lagerung, Stichprobenentnahme und Kriterien für die Annahme eines Loses.
