Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an zwei Typen von Schläuchen und Schlauchleitungen fest, zum einen für niedrigen Druck, mit einem maximalen Betriebsdruck von 6 bar, und zum anderen für hohen Druck, mit einem maximalen Betriebsdruck von 18 bar, die aus Gummi hergestellt und mit Schlaucharmaturen aus Metall ausgestattet sind und die für die Förderung von gesättigtem Dampf und Heißwasserkondensat bestimmt sind.
Jeder Typ ist in zwei Klassen unterteilt, die entweder eine ölbeständige oder eine nicht ölbeständige Außenschicht besitzen.
