Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM enthält eine kurze Zusammenfassung der allgemein angewendeten Prüfverfahren zur Beurteilung von akut toxischem Potenzial sowie anderer Prüfungen der Toxizität. Er enthält Bemerkungen über ihre Anwendbarkeit bei realen Brandszenarien und gibt Empfehlungen für ihre Anwendung. Er dient als Anleitung dafür, welche Prüfungen Daten über das toxische Potenzial bereitstellen, die für reale Brandszenarien von Bedeutung sind, und welche Prüfungen sich für die Beurteilung der Brandgefahr und die Brandschutzingenieurverfahren eignen. Diese Sicherheitsgrundnorm ist vorgesehen für die Anwendung durch Technische Komitees bei der Erarbeitung von Normen in Übereinstimmung mit den Grundlagen, die in IEC-Leitfaden 104 und ISO/IEC-Leitfaden 51 festgelegt sind.
