Diese Europäische Norm gilt für alle Arten von passiven Dosimetriesystemen, die verwendet werden für die Messung - der Tiefen-Personendosis Hp(10) (für die Ganzkörperdosimetrie), - der Oberflächen-Personendosis Hp(0,07) (für beides, Ganz- und Teilkörperdosimetrie) oder - der Umgebungs-Äquivalentdosis H*(10) (für die Umgebungsdosimetrie). Sie gilt für Dosimetriesysteme zur Messung externer Photonen- oder Betastrahlung im Dosisbereich zwischen 0,01 mSv und 10 Sv und in den in der folgenden Tabelle angegebenen Energiebereichen. Alle Energiewerte sind mittlere Energien bezogen auf die jeweilige Dosisgröße. Die Dosimetriesysteme benutzen gewöhnlich elektronische Geräte für die Datenauswertung und sind daher oft rechnergesteuert.
