1.1 This consumer safety specification establishes requirements for corded baby monitors, including audio monitors, video monitors, and motion sensor monitors. It also provides requirements for labeling, instructional material and packaging. 1.1.1 This consumer safety specification is intended to minimize injuries to children resulting from normal usage and reasonably foreseeable misuse or abuse of baby monitors. 1.2 No product produced after the approval date of this consumer safety specification shall, either by label or other means, indicate compliance with this specification unless it conforms to all applicable requirements contained herein, before and after all testing. 1.3 Units - The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard.
