Dieser Teil von ISO 8503 beschreibt ein Verfahren für den Sicht- und Tastvergleich zur Feststellung des
Grades der Rauheit, die durch eines der in ISO 8504-2 beschriebenen Strahlverfahren entstanden ist.
Nach dem Verfahren werden ISO-Rauheitsvergleichsmuster benutzt, mit denen der Rauheitsgrad vor Ort
geprüft werden kann, bevor Beschichtungsstoffe aufgebracht oder andere Schutzmaßnahmen durchgeführt
werden.
Das Verfahren ist für Stahloberflächen anwendbar, die mit kantigen oder kugeligen Strahlmitteln gestrahlt
worden sind. Es ist aber nur anwendbar für die Oberflächenvorbereitungsgrade Sa 2½ und Sa 3 nach
ISO 8501-1, wenn die gesamte Prüffläche gleichmäßig gestrahlt wurde.
Das Verfahren ist für Oberflächen anwendbar, die mit metallischen oder nichtmetallischen Strahlmitteln
gestrahlt worden sind.
