Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für Leistungsumrichter zur Anwendung in photovoltaischen PV-Anlagen, bei denen ein gleichbleibendes technisches Sicherheitsniveau erforderlich ist. Die vorliegende Norm legt die Mindestanforderungen für die Auslegung und Herstellung von Leistungsumrichtern für den Schutz gegen elektrischen Schlag, elektrische Energie, Brand, mechanische und sonstige Gefahren fest. Diese Norm enthält allgemeine Anforderungen für alle Typen von PV-Leistungsumrichtern. Es gibt weitere Teile dieser Norm, die besondere Anforderungen für verschiedene Arten von Leistungsumrichtern angeben, wie Teil 2 "Wechselrichter".
