Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Chrom(VI) in Trinkwasser mit Chrom(VI)-Massenkonzentrationen von 2 µg/l bis 50 µg/l fest. Bei höheren Chrom(VI)-Gehalten wird die Probe vor der Analyse entsprechend verdünnt. Das Verfahren kann auch auf schwach belastete Grund- und Oberflächenwässer angewendet werden, vorausgesetzt, sie enthalten keine störenden Reduktionsmittel. Die Anwendung des Verfahrens auf Meer- und Tidegewässer ist nicht geprüft, so dass der Anwender für die Validierung des Verfahrens bei Anwendung auf diese Matrices verantwortlich ist.
