Diese Norm legt Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Eigenschaften von viskosen "Feuerfestbindemitteln" für industrielle Zwecke fest. Abhängig von der geforderten Anwendung und den gewünschten Eigenschaften des Endproduktes sind unterschiedliche Klassen von Feuerfestbindemitteln erhältlich. Es ist zu beachten, dass Bindepech für Kohlenstoffprodukte, wie in prEN 14263 beschrieben, ebenfalls als Feuerfestprodukt verwendet werden kann.
