Diese ÖNORM beschreibt einen Materialermüdungstest für Dentalimplantate, die durch die Schleimhaut im Knochen verankert sind. Es wird die Belastung eines Implantates in Form eines einzelnen Zahnes simuliert, es ist aber nicht möglich, die Haltbarkeit in vivo eines Dentalimplantates oder eine Prothese vorherzusagen, insbesondere wenn mehrere Implantate für eine Prothese verwendet werden. Die Methode erlaubt einen Vergleich von Implantaten verschiedenen Formen oder Größen.
