Es werden die Mindestanforderungen an ein- und zweistufige Präzisionssondergetriebe mit Einfach- und Doppelschrägverzahnung und Übersetzung ins Schnelle oder Langsame mit parallelen Wellen mit Ritzeldrehzahlen von 3000 min-1 oder mehr oder Teilkreisgeschwindigkeiten von 25 m/s oder mehr festgelegt. Diese Getriebe müssen normalerweise länger kontinuierlich betrieben werden, ohne dass Ersatzmaschinen zur Verfügung stehen. Nach Vereinbarung kann die vorliegende Internationale Norm auch auf andere Bereiche angewendet werden.
